How to See the Pitches You Faced

The Hitting MD · ~20 sec
1
Open Pitches Faced
Sign in to your portal and look for the Pitches Faced card, under Training. It is there whether or not you have hit off the machine yet.
2
Every machine session, newest first
Each block is one session in the cage. The date is at the top, with how many setups the machine was put on that day.

3
The mix, then every setup
The row of chips is the mix — which pitches came up and how many times. Under it is every setup in order: the pitch, where it was going, and which hand it was set up as. RHP means it was thrown as a right-hander would; LHP as a left-hander would.

What the spots mean
Nine spots, the ones the machine can be set to: up, middle or down, and in, middle or away. In and away are from where you stand in the box. So “down and away” is low and on the outer edge.
5
Why it is worth a look
It is the record of what you have actually seen. If every session is fastballs middle, you know what to ask for next time; if the sweeper keeps coming up and you remember how those went, that is the thing to work on.
